Mental Health

Schools are uniquely positioned to provide social-emotional support to students dealing with stress, mental health problems, trauma, bullying, family change, and learning challenges.

Our School Psychologist and School Social Worker are trained to offer mental health services and understand school systems and learning, as well as how behavior and mental health impact children’s overall well-being and academic functioning.

Mental health supports offered in schools include but are not limited to:

  • Building trusting connections with each student and their family
  • Providing individualized and classroom social-emotional skill development for students
  • Direct consultation and linkage to appropriate community resources for families
  • When further supports are warranted, connecting families to school linked mental health services or other outside mental health supports

Kindergarten Second Step Lessons

Becoming a successful learner isn’t just about academics. Second Step is a social-emotional learning curriculum that supports the whole child. It teaches skills for resolving conflicts, working with others, forming healthy relationships, and making good decisions—so students can be more successful emotionally, socially, and academically.
